The very narrow footprint of this building presented a challenge to spatial layout. As an alternative to long narrow plans, we developed a program to work vertically across floors using atriums and open stairs. The additional square footage for development was accumulated in part from mechanical deductions, and in part from creating other double high spaces in lower floors, shifting the space allotment to the more valuable upper units including the addition of penthouses.
